Funeral services for Henry Paul William Mueller were held Monday, August 19, 2:00 p.m. at the Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, Iowa. Rod Jones officiated. Casket bearers were LeeRoy Guyer, Lonnie Martins, Dean Corbin, Frank Hillman, Richard Stodola and David Roquet. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clayton Center, Iowa.

Henry Paul William Mueller, son of G. F. William and Alvina (Wilke) Mueller, was born March 9, 1902 near Clayton Center, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area attending country school. He was united in marriage to Viola Thompson on August 12, 1936. One child was born to this marriage. Henry farmed all of his life in the Luana, Iowa area, retiring in 1972 at which time he moved into St. Olaf, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his Guernsey cows. He has resided in the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa for the past six years, where he died on Thursday evening, August 15, 1996 at the age of ninety-four.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Helmuth Mueller, Arnold Mueller, and William Mueller; 4 sisters, Louisea Dorman, Emma Havlicek, Alma Lechtenmacher, and Alvina Landt; and a son-in-law, Harold L. Guyer.

Henry is survived by his wife, Viola of St. Olaf, Iowa; a daughter Shirley Guyer of St. Olaf, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Sonja (Frank) Hillman of Farmersburg, Iowa, Ramona Guyer of St. Olaf, Iowa, and LeeRoy (Lydia) Guyer of Luana, Iowa; a great-granddaughter, Hailee Jean Guyer; 3 sisters, Sophia Wacker of Waukon, Iowa, Amanda Dennler of Elkader, Iowa, and Greta Bruns of Decorah, Iowa.
