Services Held For Lester Hoth
Funeral services for Lester Emil Arno Hoth, 48, of Holland, Mich. were held Monday afternoon, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran church in Clayton Center with Rev. J. H. Zerhusen officiating.
Burial was in the new Clayton Center cemetery.
Mr. Hoth was born the son of Arthur and Charlotte, nee Heuer, Hoth, Nov. 8, 1916, in Read township, Clayton county, Iowa.
He died of arthritis at his home in Holland, Mich., Friday, Aug. 13. He had been ill since the first of the year.
He was baptized by Rev. F. Athenstadt at Zion Lutheran church in Clayton Center, Dec. 25, 1916, and confirmed in the same church, March 29, 1931, by Rev. B. F. Korte. His education was received in the Denmark rural school of Read township.
Mr. Hoth was married to Helen Palmer at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran church in Monona by Dr. H. W. Siefkes, Jan. 6, 1940. They farmed for 16 years near Luana, after which they moved to Waterloo where he studied accounting. In 1957 they moved to Holland, Mich., where he was an accountant with the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a twin sister, and a brother.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dixie) Brinks of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one son, Lester Hoth Jr. of Muskegon, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Keith (Helen) Reinhardt of Ferguson; two brothers, LeRoy and Reuben of Monona; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Milton Schierholz, Harvey Lenth, George Burger, Harold Panncke, Robert Thoma, and Adrian Riveland.
