Funeral Services For Former Resident

Funeral services were held at Garnavillo Friday afternoon for Carl A. Huebner, 66, who died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville last week Tuesday. He had been found unconscious in his home earlier in the day apparently having suffered a stroke.

Mr. Huebner was born in Clayton county, March 9, 1893, the son of Charles and Anna Walther Huebner. On February 22, 1927, Mr. Huebner and Florence Elizabeth Meyer were married by the Rev. K. Wm. Braun, pastor of St. Paul's church in Garnavillo. They had one daughter, Marilyn. The Huebners lived on farms in the Postville and Garnavillo vicinities until 1943 when they moved to Garnavillo and Mr. Huebner operated a service station.

Besides his daughter, Mrs. W. R. Davison of Miami Springs, Florida, he is survived by one granddaughter, Lisa Ann Davison, one grandson, Carleton Davison; four brothers, George, Rudy and Henry of Postville and William of Elgin; one sister, Mrs. John Gruel of Harvard, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife who died in 1951, his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Services were conducted at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church by the Rev. L. C. Urlaub. Burial was in the Garnavillo cemetery.

A. Kinsel of Morrisson, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Heying, Jerry and Richard of Dubuque, Nancy Meyer of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Ken R. Crapnell of Oelwein, George Falb, William Miller and Leo Lehman of Elgin, Mr. and Mrs. Will Kruse and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Meyer of Monona, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Horstman of Guttenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wolf, Mrs. Fred Wistrick and Mr. and Mrs. V. F. Embretson of Elkader.
