Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Edward J. Schoenfeldt were held Wednesday, September 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa. Pastor Benjamin Davis officiated. Pallbearers were members of the St. Olaf American Legion Post 388. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Edward John Schoenfeldt, son of Andrew Valentine and Dora (Wassinger) Schoenfeldt, was born June 11, 1922 in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Waller High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1940. Edward was a member of the American Legion, St. Olaf Post 388. He served in the United States Army for four years during World War II. On June 20, 1959 Edward was united in marriage to Marilyn Maurine Kruse at Elkader, Iowa. He worked as a printer for Deluxe Check Printers for 25 years.
Edward died Saturday, September 14, 1991 at his home. Preceding him in death were his parents, 2 brothers, Robert Schoenfeldt, and Frank Schoenfeldt, and 1 sister, Irene.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a son, David Edward (Lori) Schoenfeldt of Farmersburg, Iowa; a brother, Albert Schoenfeldt of Chicago, Illinois and many other relatives and friends.
