Genevieve Mae Harbaugh

Funeral services were held for Genevieve Mae Harbaugh, 89, Thursday, July 22, 1993, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garnavillo. Pastor Tim Bernard officiated the service with burial in Brown Cemetery, Colesburg. Honorary pallbearers were Marlene Meyer, Hattie Appleton, Mona Adams, Brenda Schaub, Lois Harbaugh, Sharon Radabaugh, Eunice Schroeder, Mildred Hageman and Linda Hansel. Pallbearers were Brenden Harbaugh, Joseph Harbaugh, George Harbaugh Jr., Craig Harbaugh, Lynn Harbaugh, Bob Nieland, Todd Berns and Kevin Harbaugh.

Genevieve Mae Harbaugh was born June 17, 1904, near Millville, Iowa, daughter of John and Louise (DeSotel) Kauffman. She received her education at the Millville School and was a homemaker and mother. On November 9, 1922, she was united in marriage with Lloyd Harbaugh Sr. in Colesburg. She died Tuesday, July 20, 1993, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Eleanor (Mrs. Robert) Lewin and Mrs. Coletta Nieland, both of Guttenberg; five sons, Lloyd Jr. of Volga, George Harbaugh and Richard Harbaugh of Guttenberg, Carrol Harbaugh of Elkader and Gary Harbaugh of Westby, Wis.; 43 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Phelps of Colesburg and Mrs. Louise (LaVern) Marshall of Glen Haven, Wis., and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd Sr.; two daughters, Shirley Berns and Jacquelyn Scherf; ten grandchildren; five brothers and five sisters.
