Funeral services for Gladys Bruehahn were held Monday, May 8, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at Schultz Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa. Rev. Glenn Leaf officiated. Pallbearers were Larry Schroeder, Jerry Schroeder, Ralph Bacon, Burdette Scheffert, Larry Lembke, Brad Schneckloth, Curtis Lembke, and Aaron Schneckloth. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gladys E. Bruehahn, daughter of William and Rose (Holly) Schroeder was born November 8, 1908 in Giard Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She was baptized in 1909 and confirmed on September 10, 1922 at the Lutheran Church by Rev. Daugs.

She was united in marriage to Walter A. Bruehahn on August 6, 1929 at the Lutheran Parsonage in Monona by Rev. Daugs. To this union three children were born. The couple farmed northwest of Monona until 1957. In 1961 they moved to Monona. Gladys enjoyed flowers, crocheting, knitting, patching and quilting. She died Thursday, May 4, 2000 at the Great River Care Center, McGregor, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter A. Bruehahn who died May 14, 1989; a son Walter W. "Sockie" Bruehahn; a granddaughter, Joan Dull; a grandson Donald Dull; a son-in-law, Gene Dull; a brother Harold Schroeder and 2 sisters, Harriet Bacon and Vivian Scheffert.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Georgia Mae Dull of Falls Church, Virginia, and Grace LaVonne Plumlee of Ridgley, West Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Lois Bruehahn of Monona, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren in addition to a host of other relatives and friends.
