Mrs. Henry Heins Dies at Postville
Funeral services for Mrs. Henry C. Heins, 72, were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 28, at 1:30 o'clock at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church in Postville, with Rev. Charles E. Witt officiating.
Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
Mrs. Heins died at her home Thursday, Dec. 24, following a lingering illness.
[Amelia Louise Heins] was born the daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina (nee Meier), Kutzbach, Sept. 5, 1892, at Farmersburg. She was baptized Oct. 23, 1892 at the Zion Lutheran church in Clayton Center and was confirmed April 8, 1906 at St. John Lutheran church in Farmersburg.
She was married to Henry Carl Heins, Sept. 27, 1917, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church in Postville, and the couple engaged in farming south of Luana, where they have lived since their marriage.
Mrs. Heins was an active member in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church in Postville.
Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Mrs. Henry (Lena) Hoth of Waubay, S. D.; one brother, Louis Kutzbach of Farmersburg; three half-sisters, two in infancy and Mrs. Richard (Martha) Kuthe of Clayton Center; two half-brothers, Charles Benzing of Williams, Minn., and Henry Benzing of Farmersburg; and two grandchildren in infancy.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Ernie Heins of Postville, Henry Willis Heins and Glendor Heins of Luana; two daughters, Mrs. Roland (LaVerna) Dundee of Clermont, and Mrs. Virgil (Mabel) Sawvell of Waterloo; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Minnie) Kluth and Mrs. Adele Heins of Monona, and Mrs. Gus (Sophia) Benzing of Calmar; one half-sister, Mrs. Richard (Emma) Kuthe of Monona; two brothers, Ernest Kutzbach of Elma, and Henry Kutzbach of Farmersburg; 29 grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were six of her grandsons: Lester Pixler, Jr., Donald Pixler, Ernie Heins, Jr., Jerry Heins, Nathan Heins, and Wayne Heins.
