Esther Heins Interred Saturday

Funeral services for Esther Heins were conducted Saturday, September 28 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, with the Rev. Norman Ullestad officiating. Mrs. Heins died September 25 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.

Esther Margaret Ruckdaschel Heins was born near Postville on September 16, 1896, the daughter of John and Anna Knodt Ruckdaschel. She was baptized and confirmed into St. Paul Lutheran Church where she remained a member.

On February 6, 1919 she was married to Walter Heins and they became parents of three children. They farmed south of Luana, where Mrs. Heins resided until six years ago when she moved to Postville.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two children, Walter, Jr. and Betty Jean (Mrs. Mohn); a great granddaughter, a sister Flora, a son-in-law and two brothers, Ernest and John.

Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Richard (Gertrude) Koopman; three granddaughters, Mrs. Marlan (Karen) Squires, Mrs. Lee (Sharon) Krambeer and Mrs. Jim (Susan) Bollman; one grandson, Kim Koopman; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Lenora Ruckdaschel of Postville and Mrs. Lawrence (Hertha) Thoma of Luana.
