Mrs. Earl Stalnaker of Strawberry Point died Sunday morning, April 22nd, after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart Church, Cox Creek, where a Requiem High Mass was sung by Rev. Father Bowen, assisted by the choir. Interment was in the Cox Creek cemetery. Pall bearers were Dean Sauerby, Howard Stalnaker, Frank O’Brien, Marcus O’Brien, Stephen Ivory, and George O’Brien.
Agnes J., daughter of Michael and Margaret O’Brien, was born in Sperry township, April 6, 1880. She was the youngest of ten children. After several years of teaching in the schools of Clayton county, she was married to Earl Stalnaker of Strawberry Point on May 19th, 1904. To this union were born six children, Claire, Clarence, Carl, Eugene, Marvin, and Ellen Margaret. She leaves two brothers, James and John, and two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Thyne of Strawberry Point and Nellie of Oelwein.
Mrs. Stalnaker was a woman whose greatest delight was in her home and the exacting duties of wifehood, motherhood and homemaking. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved husband and children in their sorrow.
