Word has come to Volga that Mrs. Julius Voss (Mary Belle Duff) had passed away at Oakdale. Her remains arrived Friday. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon in the Presbyterian church. Rev. Bottom the local minister officiating. Interment was made in Hill Crest Cemetery. Mrs. Voss had been sick for some time. She leaves two small girls. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved ones.

Mary Belle Duff daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Duff was born in Highland Township near Volga, Iowa, February 15, 1880 and departed this life at Oakdale, Iowa April 4, 1928. She was 48 years 1 month and 19 days. She was married to Julius Voss June 5, 1919. Two children were born to them, Marion and Rebecca, who, with the father, remain to mourn her departure. Besides the husband and children she leaves three brothers and one sister, as follows: Milton Duff of Highland neighborhood, Ralph Duff of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Archie Duff of Bagley, Wis., and Mrs. Ruth Scott of Highland neighborhood. She became a Christian and united with the Volga Presbyterian church years ago, and remained a faithful member of the same until her death.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Volga on Saturday afternoon, April 7th, at 2:00 o’clock conducted by Rev. N. Ernest Bottom pastor of the church. “The Sweetest Sleep? Was the pastor’s theme and the text was 1 Thess. 4: 13-14. Interment was made in Hill Crest Cemetery. The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.
