Thomas E. Mork was born, April 15, 1859, in Marion Township, Clayton County, Iowa, where he has lived his entire life. He died March 26, 1928, from heart trouble. He had however suffered for more than seven years from the effects of a stroke and repeated light strokes. His end was expected.
He was united in wedlock with Miss Molly Ruroden, May 1, 1900. To this union was born eight children who live to mourn his passing together with their mother. The children are: Mrs. Lou McNally, Enoch, Millard, and Robert of Grand Meadow Township, Selmer, Otto, Mellion, and Anna May, at home in Marion Township. He also leaves eight grandchildren and two brothers, Peter and Knudt, of Elgin and a sister, Mrs. T. H. Olson, of Marion, together with many friends.
Mr. Mork was well known in and about Marion Township especially because he was a carpenter and followed this profession during a great part of his life and also because he lived here all of his life, nearly, 69 years.
Mr. Mork put his entire confidence for eternal life and future happiness in the merits of Christ his Savior. “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from hence forth.”
Interment was made in the Marion Cemetery from the Marion Church, Rev. T. W. Tysdal, pastor, officiating.
