Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 2, 1981 at 1:30 p.m. for Carrie Hinman at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, with Rev. Carroll Brown officiating.
Carrie Anna Hinman, the daughter of Milton and Anna Beede Mason was born February 24, 1894 in Allamakee County. She was educated in the rural schools of this area. June 19, 1912 she was united in marriage to Clyde Hinman at LaCrosse, Wisconsin. They spent their lives in the Luana area.
She died Thursday, October 29, 1981 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, having reached the age of 87 years, 8 months, 5 days. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Clyde, who died February 17, 1972, two grandchildren, Kim and Holly Collins, one great grandson, Kyle Walter, her son-in-law, Everett Carnes, one brother, Jerome Mason, four sisters, Bessie Russell, Cora Entwisle, Clara Hensley, Margarete Paulson.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Arno (Helen) Nevermann, Mrs. Adrian (Norma) Riveland, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Collins, all of Luana, and Mrs. Everett (Lois) Carnes of Elkader, ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one sister, Fay of California.
