John B. Uriell died quite suddenly this morning at 6 o'clock at the Western House, where he has been staying the past week. His death evidently resulted fro the too free use of alcohol. He leaves a wife and family of several grown up children, two of his daughters being at present employed by prominent families in town. Previous to his death he stated to J.S. Otkin, proprietor of the hotel, that his wife had left him a short time ago at Sioux City and that it was for the purpose of finding her and his children that he had come back to LeMars, he having resided here for a short time a year ago. His wife is in Wisconsin and has been telegraphed to by friends.
In former years he was a well-to-do farmer in Clayton county, but he went to Texas and lived for several years and reverses greatly reduced his circumstances. He came to Plymouth county a year ag and has lived near Seney up to within a short time ago when his home was broken up, he having met with more reverses and at the time of his death only a small sum remained to his credit in the bank.
His body was taken to Beeley & Fissel's undertaking establishment, but no disposal will be made of the remains until his wife has been heard from.

----------The funeral of J.B. Uriell who died suddenly at the Western House on Thursday, occured Friday from the undertaking house of Beeley & Fissel. The last church rites were performed at St. Joseph's church by Rev. Father Meis and the remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery. His son came down from Sheldon for the occasion and other wealthy relatives were present. His wife, who is visiting in Wisconsin, was too sick to attend. What money he possessed at the time of his death was more than sufficient to cover all the expenses of the funeral.
