Tuesday Services for Roy Troup, 73

Services for Melvin LeRoy (Roy) Troupe, 73, were held Tuesday at the Appleton Funeral Home in Edgewood. Mr. Troupe, who had lived most of his life in Strawberry Pt., died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Robert Backstrom in Cedar Rapids Sunday.

Melvin LeRoy Troupe, son of Jacob and Emma Addis Troupe, was born November 15, 1887 near Arlington. He grew up in the vicinity of Strawberry Point and attended school here. He married Maggie Wesley in 1906. They were the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Wesley (Marvel) Weyant of Edgewood and Mrs. Robert (Eloise) Backstrom of Cedar Rapids. He is survived by his daughters, one brother, Vern of Clarksville; one sister, Mrs. Goldie Fry of Strawberry Point. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1946.
