Edwin Lavern Bugenhagen, Jr., age 48, died Friday *June __ 1986, the obituary did not give a day* at the home of his parents in Luana, Iowa. Services were held Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana, Iowa with Pastor Ted Ager officiating. Schultz Funeral Home of Monona, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Donald Bugenhagen, Royce Backes, Harlan Backes, Dean Nielsen, Dale Bugenhagen, and Daniel Solomon.*The obituary also did not list the place of burial.*

Edwin Lavern Bugenhagen, Jr. was born March 4, 1938 in Luana, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Lydia (Backes) Bugenhagen. He was baptized May 1, 1938 and confirmed May 27, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church in Luana, Iowa. He graduated from Luana Consolidated School in 1955. He joined the Air force in 1956 and served for 4 years. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1964 with a degree in Business Administration. He married Sylvia Ann Barker on March 25, 1978 in Rochester, New York. He was a sales executive for Castle Corporation Medical Products for 15 and a half years. He and his wife recently moved to Geneva, Illinois to assume his present position with that company.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Lydia (Backes) Bugenhagen and a brother, Harlan Bugenhagen.

Surviving is his wife, Sylvia, a son Stephen Bugenhagen and a daughter, Kirsten Bugenhagen of Rochester, New York; his father and step-mother, Edwin Bugenhagen, Sr. and Martha Bugenhagen of Monona, Iowa, one brother Ervin Bugenhagen of Luana, Iowa and two sisters, Elaine Merwin and Arlene Solomon of Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
