Allen Lee Ball was born July 15, 1955 at the Postville, Iowa hospital to Robert and Betty (Suckow) Ball. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa. He received his education in the MFL school, graduating from high school in 1974. On September 24, 1977 Allen married Mary Torkelson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa. He farmed in the Monona area all his life.

Allen died Wednesday August 12,1987 at Postville Community Hospital in Postville, Iowa following a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with Pastor Harold O. Ward officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's cemetery in Monona. Casket bearers were Bill Suckow, Mick Krambeer, Ross Ball, Bruce Suckow, Bill Christofferson, Michael Staff, Byron Moses, and Wade Bruehahn. Schultz Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ball and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Esther Suckow.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; a son, Lee Allen Ball at home; his parents; a brother Derald Ball of Monona, Iowa; a sister Laurie Ball of Fort Collins, Colorado, and his maternal grandfather, Helmuth Suckow of Oelwein, Iowa.
