Evelyn Malinda Rogness was born September 10, 1909 at Chimney Rock, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Ulness) Erickson. She died Sunday, September 29, 1985 at Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 2 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona, Iowa with Pastor Harold O. Ward officiating. Pallbearers were Lee Krambeer, Lanny Scheffert, Duane Scheffert, Lyle Kurth, Tom Schofield and Gaylord Oelke. Burial was in the St. Paul's Church Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of the arrangements.

Evelyn was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On October 30, 1936 she was married to Sanford Rogness at Blair, Wisconsin. In 1949 she moved with her husband to Monona where Sam employed the largest number of employees in Monona at the Rogness sawmill. During the years they lived at Monona they were members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the ALCW. In 1966, after the death of her husband, she moved to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and resided there until 1983 when she moved to Waukon, Iowa. In 1984 she became a resident of Northgate Care Center in Waukon.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Sanford on October 20, 1965, a sister Agnes Halvorson and two brothers, Melvin and Arthur Erickson.

Surviving are three sons: David Rogness of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Dennis Rogness of Phoenix, Arizona, and Darrell Rogness of Waukon, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Olaf and Vilac Erickson of Osseo, Wisconsin, Clarence Erickson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Ernest Erickson of California; and 3 sisters, Margaret Hulett of Taylor, Wisconsin, Hazel Biesecker of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Cora Irving of Fort Meyers, Florida, in addition to nieces and nephews.
