Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Helen (Wegner) Hunt, daughter of Charles and Louise(Lubbers) Hunt was born March 4, 1912 in Clayton County, Iowa. She died Saturday, March 28, 1987 in Gainesville, Florida. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa in 1925.
She attended the Postville Public School, graduating in 1929. Later she graduated from UNI at Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught school for a number of years. She served in the Waves for 4 years and married Lloyd Hunt. They had 2 children. They resided in Osceola, Iowa and later moved to Gainesville, Florida where she served as secretary in the museum of the Gainesville University for 26 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A memorial service and a burial was held at the National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida on March 31, 1987.
She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Mark (Christine) Bennett, a son William Hunt and his wife Linda; a granddaughter, Tracy Louise Bennett and a brother, Harlan Wegner of Redford, Michigan.
