Funeral services for Lee Farmer were held Thursday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville, Iowa. Rev. Keith Klemm officiated. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Roger Wettleson, Robert W. Wettleson, Glen Pixler, Woodrow Hyde, Don Kregel, Eldon Kregel, Rolan Heins, and Sylvan Torkelson.

Lee Farmer, son of James and Mary (Struckman) Farmer, was born December 11, 1897 in Cox Creek Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He died April 7, 1986 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, Iowa. He was baptized January 16, 1898 in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Elkader, Iowa. He attended the local rural schools in Clayton County. On April 7, 1921 he was married to Ruby Elaine Trudo at the Court House in Elkader, Iowa. They were the parents of 2 children. They farmed in the Clermont and Postville areas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; a daughter Dorothy and her husband Phelman Peterson; a grandson, Myron Dale Peterson; 3 brothers, George, Walter, and James Farmer, and a sister, Jessie.

Surviving is a son Jim Farmer and his wife, Marie of Postville, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Phyllis Glawe, Debbie Mohs, and Kevin Petersen; Craig, Dave, and Audrey Farmer; 6 great grandchildren: Jared and Laura Farmer, Lee Glawe, Dustin and Dannon Mohs, and Abbie Peterson; a brother, Lloyd Farmer of Charles City, Iowa; a sister, Alice Krambeer of Britt, Iowa and a sister-in-law, Lillie Trudo of Luana, Iowa.
