Ruby Anna Albertina Topel, the daughter of Rudolph and Emma (Mielke) Levenhagen, was born December 28, 1908 in Allamakee County, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the church at Watson, Iowa. She received her education in the country school near her home. In 1926 she was united in marriage to Elmer H. Peters at the EUB Church in Monona, Iowa. To this union 4 children were born. Elmer passed away in 1936. On September 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Albert "Bert" August Topel at the EUB parsonage in Monona. She had been employed as a clerk at Hupfer's, was a cook at a restaurant, and employed at the dry cleaners all in Monona, Iowa. She died February 7, 1984 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. She reached the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 11 days.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 11, 1984 at 11 a.m. at the Garden City United Methodist (the white board) church. Rev. Carroll Brown officiated. Pallbearers were Larry Peters, Robert Peters, David Peters, Steve Hass, Rick Hass, and Richard Felland. Burial was in the Monona, Iowa Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her first husband Elmer Peters, her second husband, Bert Topel on January 29, 1962, her daughter, Delores Hass in 1977, 2 brothers, Edmund and Lawrence Levenhagen.

Surviving are her 2 sons, Robert Peters of Marquette, Iowa and William Peters of Colesburg, Iowa; her daughter Mrs. Milton (Gloria) Klima of McGregor, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Grace) Topel and Gretchen "Babe" Moses, both of Monona, Iowa.
