Strawberry Point: Dr. C. C. Kimpston, 83, of Strawberry Point, a retired veterinarian, died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Oelwein.
Funeral services were to be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Thursday) in the First Methodist Church with burial in the Strawberry Point Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Huscher will officiate and the Feeney-Knutson funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
The son of Frank and Martha Yearous Kimpston, Charles Clifford Kimpston was born Oct. 11, 1884. He and Gladys Sargent were married Aug. 27, 1925, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He was a graduate of Indiana Veterinary College and came to Strawberry Point 50 years ago. Dr. Kimpston had been a federal inspector.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Patterson of Cedar Rapids; one son, Charles of Strawberry Point; two sisters, Miss Catharine Kimpston of Fayette and Mrs. Janet Herz of Lead, S.D.; four brothers Albin of Fayette, Frank of Hawkeye, Elsworth of State Center and William of Omaha, Neb., and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a son.
