Burdette Persson, age 71, of Eitzen, Minnesota died Friday March 18, 1988 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at St.Luke's United Church of Christ in Eitzen. The Rev. Lloyd Fried conducted the services and Haugen-Roble Funeral Home of Caledonia, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were LeRoy Meiners, Dean Bulman, Rodney Meiners, John Weymiller, William Reth, and Ronald Henderson.

Burdette was born October 9, 1916 in Dundee to Olaf and Katherine (Heinbrodt) Persson. He graduated from Littleport, Iowa High School. On June 22, 1938 he married Grace Reth in Earlville, Iowa. He had farmed in Strawberry Point, Iowa and been the janitor at St.Luke's and city caretaker in Eitzen.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Carolyn Meiners of Eitzen; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother Earnest Persson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and a sister Emma Dittmer of Strawberry Point, Iowa.
