Ernest Lester Holt

Funeral services for Ernest L. Holt, 79, were held Monday, Aug. 11, 1980 at 11 a.m. at the East Clermont Lutheran Church. The Rev. Allan J. Stoa officiated. Schutte Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the East Clermont Cemetery.

Ernest Lester Holt, son of Emil and Laura (Larson) Holt, was born June 11, 1901 in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He died Aug. 8, 1980 at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wis.

He was baptized, confirmed and a life-time member of East Clermont Lutheran Church, May 14, 1924 he was married to Florence Wedo. They farmed in Grand Meadow Township until retiring in 1955 and moving to Clermont. He spent his time with numerous part time jobs including police work for the town of Clermont.

Preceding him in death are his parents and two sisters: Mrs. John (Ella) Sampson and Mrs. Alfred (Alma) Madson.

He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Larson of Clermont and Mrs. Margaret Couley of Waterloo.
