Marguerite Heying

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Marguerite Heying of Garnavillo on Friday, July 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Garnavillo, with burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Cemetery. The officiating clergyman was Monsignor Ronald Sweeney of Guttenberg. She died at Elkader Care Center, Elkader, following a lingering illness. Visitation was at Tuecke Funeral Home, Garnavillo where the scripture-wake service was held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 20.

Mrs. Heying was born on May 24, 1917 in National, Ia. to Bernard Berns and Agnes (Auer) Berns. She died of a lingering illness on July 18, 1978 at 5:45 p.m. at the age of 61 years. Left to mourn her are one brother, Loraine J. Berns of National, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. Mark (Alice) DeSotel of Luxemburg, Iowa.
