Judy K. Corlett
MCGREGOR, Iowa -- Judy Kay Corlett, 42, of McGregor, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at her residence in McGregor.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home, McGregor, with the Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

She was born on March 26, 1968, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., daughter of John and Connie (Kozelka) Corlett. She graduated from MAR-MAC High School in 1986.

Judy's love for child care led her to Chicago and New York as a nanny. Upon returning to her hometown roots in McGregor, she opened her home with in-home day care services. She also was a homemaker and volunteered her time with the elderly.

Her passions included family, friends, her pets, photography, volunteering her time with the elderly and social networking. Judy's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

Surviving are her son, David John Corlett, of McGregor; her mother, Connie Corlett, of McGregor; her grandmother, Florence Kozelka, of Prairie du Chien; two brothers, John (Cindy Mason) Corlett, of Parker, Colo., and Jeff Corlett, of McGregor; two sisters, Jolene (Randy) Lucas, of Lake Mills, Wis., and Jennifer (Jennifer Weltzin) Corlett; three nieces and a nephew; and an extensive, extended family.

She joined her father, John Corlett III, who preceded her in death.

Condolences may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 117, McGregor, Iowa.

Memorials may be given in Judy's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the National Humane Society.
