Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Ed Doerring
Funeral services for Mrs. Ed (Irene) Doerring were held February 1 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. The Rev. R. D. Ehlers officiated.
Mrs. Doerring was born December 24, 1895 in Clayton Township, Clayton County and died at her home in Monona January 29, 1979. She was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Valke) Brandtman.
Mrs. Doerring was baptized and confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church, Luana and received her education in the Luana School. She was united in marriage to Ed Doerring March 16, 1915; four children were born to this union.
They farmed until November 1961 and since then have made their home in Monona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles; one grandson; two sisters, Alta Martins and Bernadine Doerring.
Survivors include her husband Ed; one daughter, Mrs. Victor (LuNida) Sebastian, Postville; two sons, Eugene, Anamosa and Robert, Lancaster, Wis.; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Adeline Fox, Monona.
Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
