Peter Doerring

Funeral services were held for Peter Frederick Doerring, 20, at 11 a.m. Nov. 26, 1980 at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. The Rev. Harold Ward officiated in the service with burial in the church cemetery.

Peter Doerring was the son of Harold and Elvera Mae (Jensen) Doerring, born July 26, 1960 in Postville. He died Sunday, Nov. 23, 1980 as the result of a hunting accident in the Pony Hollow area of rural Elkader.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. He attended school at Valley and MFL. For the past two years he had been making his home in Decorah.

Preceding him in death was his mother and maternal grandparents. Surviving are his father; two sisters, Mrs. Randy (Julia) Looby and Angela Moser, all of Luana; two brothers, Andrew of Decorah and Martin of Spillville; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Doerring of Luana.
