John Carl Doerring

Funeral services were held for John Carl Doerring, 89, Luana, Saturday, April 11, 1992, at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, with burial at the church cemetery. Rev. Ted Ager officiated. Pallbearers were Larry Riveland, Ewald Walch, Duaine Davis, Robert Schultz, Dwain Wolter, Ronnie Keehner, Dale Linderbaum and Harley Radloff, Jr.

John Carl Doerring, son of William and Frederike Garms Doerring, was born January 31, 1903, at Luana. He was baptized June 12, 1903, by Rev. Paulsen and confirmed by Rev. Westenberger April 1, 1917, at St. John in Luana. He received his education at the Luana Consolidated School. He was united in marriage to Helen Dorothea Miller on December 29, 1932, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona by Rev. E. H. Doerring. To this union seven children were born. He farmed from 1932 to 1957 when he retired. John Carl Doerring died Tuesday, April 7, 1992, at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, Raymond of Luana and Robert of Newton; four daughters, Joanne (Milt) Kramer of Manchester, Edythe (Paul) Scheidt of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Beguin of Onalaska, Wis., and Sylvia (Larry) Williams of Waverly; 12 grandchildren and 5 great granddaughters.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Keith John, who died in 1964; and five brothers, Orvile, Elmer, Lorenz, William and Alvin.
