Since the death of his wife the departed had been living with his daughter Esther, Mrs. Elmer Mohs, of Postville; with Amanda, Mrs. Fred Becker, of Luana; and with his son Ed Doerring of Luana. It was at the latter's home that the father died February 5, at the age of 85 years, five months and 11 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure: his four sons: Edward, Arno, Hubert and Lester, all of Luana; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Becker of Luana and Mrs. Elmer Mohs of Postville; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; one bother, August of Kenosha, Wisconsin and one sister, Mrs. Anna Muller of Monona
