John P. Dyke Funeral Held
Funeral services for John P. Dyke, 73, of Little Falls, Minnesota were held Monday afternoon of last week at the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona with the Rev. E. Wayne Hilmer, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating.
John Philip Dyke, son of Frank and Susan (Ulish) Dyke, was born in Chicago, May 26, 1883, and died at the home of his daughter Alice in Hinsdale, Illinois, on March 22, 1957, at the age of 73 years, nine months and 24 days.
In boyhood he moved to Beulah, and was educated in the Giard Township schools. He became a farmer, and continued that work until a few weeks ago. He was a longtime member of the Methodist Church.
On February 28, 1906, he was married to Anna Belle Downing, who preceded him in death in 1952. To this union were born four sons and three daughters: Melvin of Waterville; Dayton of McGregor; Lenton of Randalia; Kyle; Alice (Mrs. Jerry Kriz) of Hinsdale, Illinois; Sophia (Mrs. John Smith) of Ayrshire; and Ila Mae (Mrs. Melvin Pollock) of Vinton. All of these children survive to mourn his passing, as does a twin sister (Mrs. Jennie Jacklin) of Los Angeles; 17 grandchildren; numerous other relatives; and many friends.
