Barbara A. Dickey, age 66, of Marquette, Iowa, died Sunday, October 22, 1995 at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 25, 1995 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in McGregor with the Rev. Robert Levenhagen officiating.

Barbara was born July 13, 1929 in Postville, Iowa, daughter of Earl and Loretta (Sheehy) Abernathey. She married Bill Dickey on June 23, 1952 in Postville. She was a graduate of Clark College in Dubuque, Iowa and went on to teach school in the Prairie du Chien School District for 32 years. She taught English for seven years and music for 25 years. She played the organ for various churches for 52 years. She was a dedicated mother and teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, of Marquette, Iowa; four sons, Timothy (Jill) Dickey of East Dundee, Ill., William (Kim) of Marquette, Scott (Kris) of Parker, Colo., Jim of Aurora, Colo., three daughter, Mary Utash of Denver, Colo., Peggy (Steve) Miller of Madison, Wis., and Teresa (Donnie) Bernard of Monona, and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Curtis Abernathey.
