Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Services for Arthur William Seeland who died October 31, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville were held November 3 at St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa with burial in the Monona City Cemetery. Pastor Harold O. Ward conducted the service with Florence Evans as organist. Casket bearers were: Allen Werges, Bill Christenson, George Keehner, Milton Ponzar, George Pederson, and Everett Klotzbach, Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of services.
Arthur Seeland was born July 3, 1897 in Giard Township to John and Helene (Wendt) Seeland. He was baptized August 22, 1897 and confirmed April 9, 1914 in the Lutheran faith. He received his education in Froelich country school.
He married Anna Hamann of National on September 2, 1919. The couple farmed near Froelich until 1946 when they moved into Froelich. He worked as a carpenter, sold seed corn and managed the Farm Service Lumber Co. in Marquette. He retired in 1967 and moved to Monona. He served as a Clayton County supervisor for two terms, a member of the Clayton County Fair Board for 33 years and secretary of the board for 17 years; Farm Bureau board member for 28 years and a member of St.Paul's Lutheran Church where he served as President of the church council, on the building and finance committee and Lutheran Brotherhood.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna; two brothers, Leslie and an infant brother and one sister, Amanda Kaiser.
Surviving are 3 daughters; Imogene Meyer of Monona, Ilaverne Breitsprecher of Rhinelander, WI and Patricia Cooper of Bloomington, WI; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Found on another newspaper clipping from another newspaper, it stated that his wife, Anna (Hamann) Seeland had passed away on March 28, 1986.
