Myron Horns, 30, of Monona, was killed Sunday afternoon in heavy timber 7 miles east of Monona. He was shot by a member of his hunting party who fired at a deer, not knowing Horns had gone on behind the deer, reported the Clayton County Sheriff's office. The accident was reported at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.

A 12 gauge slug entered the victim near his left collarbone. The Monona Ambulance Service took him to Prairie du Chien Memorial hospital, where he died shortly after his arrival.
