Margaret Wilson 1920 - 2009

DAVENPORT – Margaret A. M. "Peggy" LoRang Wilson, 89, of Davenport passed away Thursday, May 28, ' 2009. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Church, Father Conroy's Vineyard of Hope or the American Cancer Society.

Peggy was born January 21, 1920, in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of John J. and Verne l(Behning) LoRang.

She graduated from McGregor High School in 1937 and from Elkader Junior College in 1939, when she then moved to Davenport. On Oct. 10, 1942, she married Robert L. Wilson at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1983.

In 1976, she retired from the Army Weapons Command on the Rock Island Arsenal after 36 years.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church; Genesis Auxiliary; Daughters of the American Revolution; Women of the Moose; St. Anthony's Catholic Church Hospice; Plus 60; and NARFE. Throughout her life, she volunteered at the Discovery Shop; Davenport Public Library; St. Anthony's; and Genesis Auxiliary.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, and playing cards with her many card group friends.
Survivors include a sister, Muree Radloff; nieces, Janet Young, Diane (Leroy) Karr, Betty Felder, Patricia (Patrick) Arguello,
Susan (Butch) Rauch, and Melanie (Terry) Halligan, nephews, John (Mary) Schneider, Jack (Judy) Radloff, Fred (Nancy) Hawley,
John (Janice) LoRang, and Jerry (Linda) LoRang; many grandnieces and grandnephews; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; as well as several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillian (Melvin) Schneider, Jacqueline Felder and Louise Hawley, and a brother, John F. (Norma) LoRang.
