McGREGOR, Iowa --- Lucetta L. Davies, 90, of McGregor, died at home, Monday, Oct. 2, 1995, of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, McGregor, with burial in Giard Cemetery, rural McGregor. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thornburg Funeral Home, McGregor, and after 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
Mrs. Davies taught for several years in Clayton County schools.
She was born on March 14, 1905, in Giard Township, Clayton County, daughter of Carl and Laura (Luckerman) Noeding. She married Leslie Davies in 1929, in McGregor; he died on June 15, 1969. They farmed for many years on the family farm near McGregor until their retirement. She moved into McGregor in 1976.
She was a member of the World War I Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and very active in the Congregational Church, in McGregor. She received her teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls.
Surviving are four children, Jeanene (Bob) Eggen, of McGregor, Marilyn Kernall, of Onalaska, Wis., Jerrold Davies, of Winterset, and Helen (Bernell) Borcherding, of Garnavillo; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Nora) Noeding, of Rockford, Ill., and C. L. "Chuck" Noeding, of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert; three brothers; and a sister.
