Final Rites Held For Frank Davis
Private funeral services for Frank Olmsted Davis, 88, were held Monday morning, March 8, at 10 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Horace H. Smith, with Rev. Donald Jones officiating.
The body lay in state at the Smith home Sunday evening. Burial was in the Monona City cemetery.
Mr. Davis died Friday, March 5, at Allen, Nebr., where he had lived for the last three years.
He was born the son of Melvin and Esther (Olmsted) Davis, Dec. 2, 1876, at Monona.
His early life was spent on his parent's farm two miles west of Monona. He received his education in the Monona Public school and Highland Park Business college in Des Moines. Upon completion of his education he entered the shoe business in which he continued for several years.
He was married to Mary (Birdie) Cross, Oct. 4, 1925, at South Sioux City, Nebr., and they established their home at Wayne, Nebr., where he was a member of the Presbyterian church. They also lived in Sioux City, Iowa for eighteen years before moving to Allen, Nebr.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Fay (Margie) Bock of Allen, Nebr.; one sister, Mrs. Horace H. Smith of Monona; three granddaughters, and three grandsons.
Pallbearers were Harvey Debes, Robert Ferguson, Vern Thompson, Emil Aulerich, Vern Zieman and Fay Bock.
