Funeral services for Maxine Mueller were held Saturday, January 4, 1997 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Farmersburg, Iowa. Rev. Bruce Hanson officiated with music by organist Mrs. Judy Walter. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services. Interment was in Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery.
Maxine Adeline Mueller, daughter of Harvey and Ida (Nesteby) Jones, was born October 27, 1919 in Grand Meadow Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She graduated from Postville High School in 1937.
Maxine was united in marriage to Orval Marvin Mueller on December 29, 1939 in Cresco, Iowa. To this union, two sons and one daughter were born. Maxine worked for the Cedar Rapids Gazette for many years and also at a grocery store for 10 years.
Maxine died Wednesday, January 1, 1997 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orval, who died December 23, 1986; a brother, Harley Jones, and a sister-in-law Arlene Knapp.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Pat) Carroll, of Cedar Rapids, IA; two sons, Ronald (Diana) of Monona, IA, and Warren (LouAnn) of State Center, IA; five grandchildren, Kristin Carroll, Jeffrey (Jamie) Carroll, Anthony (Jean) Mueller, Andrew (Vanessa) Mueller, and Jody (Al) Neuhaus; six great grandchildren, Drew and Heather Mueller, Ben Mueller, Jamie Petkicka, Sawyer Neuhaus, and Bailey Carroll; brother-in-law MaLloyd Mueller of Elkader, IA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Casket bearers were Tony Mueller, Jeff Carroll, Mike Knapp, Andy Mueller, Al Neuhaus and Don Bossard.
