Luella Krueger

Luella "Faith" Krueger, 80, of Luther Manor, formerly of 105 Main St., Clayton Iowa and 2269 Foye St., Dubuque, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at noon Friday at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave, Dubuque, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Dubuque.

Mrs. Krueger worked as an administrative assistant at John Deere Dubuque Works for 20 years, retiring in 1984.

She was born on Aug. 14, 1924, in Dubuque, daughter of Orrin and Hilda (Oneyear) Boyes. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1941.

She married William J. Krueger on Oct. 12, 1946, at the Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church; he preceded her in death in 2001.

She was initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star on April 12, 1961, and remained a member until her death. She was a life member of Grand View United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Circle.

She was an avid cookbook collector and listened to the Betty Thomas Show every day on KDTH. She enjoyed collecting clothing items for Indians in South Dakota, and personally delivering them to the reservations.

She prided herself for her shorthand, typing and clerical skills and earned the highest honors for secretarial skills in her graduating class for Senior in 1941.

Surviving are a brother, Vern (Mike) Boyes, of Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Alice Boyes, of Garnavillo, Iowa; her niece and guardian, Cheryl Walser Kramer, of Dubuque; and several nieces and a nephew, Jeff Boyes, of Clear Lake, Iowa, Lisa Boyes, of Grinnell, Iowa, Linda Bierbaum, of Barrington, IL, and Shelly Fitzgerald, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janis Lynn, in 1961; a brother, Glenn, in 2003; and a sister, June Walser, in 1991.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Project Concern.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Hoffmann and Dr. Andrew Smith, of Medical Associates in Guttenberg, Iowa, and Donna DeShaw and Deb Bolsinger, of the Clayton County Visiting Nurse Association for their love and care.
