Raymond M. Pratt, age 72 years, 30 weeks and 5 days, of Waukon, IA, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 9th, at 12:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Richard Eick officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
Raymond Martin Pratt was born on April 6, 1938 in Elkader, IA, the son of Azel and Norma (Warner) Pratt. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church in Elkader. Raymond attended Elkader schools, graduating from Central Community High School in 1955. On November 26, 1958 he married Sharon Stendel in Elkader. For many years Raymond farmed in the Elkader and Waukon areas. In 1986 Raymond and Sharon moved to Gainesville GA where he operated a small engine repair shop. They moved back to Waukon in 2008.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Pratt of Waukon; 3 children, Ellen (Gary) Brown of Cummings, GA, and their children, Rachel and Emily, Teresa (Brian) Martin of Waukon, and their children, Kolby, Nathan and Austin, and Jennifer (Adam) Kelley of Dawsonville, GA, and their child Alex; 4 additional grandchildren, Wendy Pratt and her children Andy and Mathew Veal, Terri (Nick) Wright and their child Hanna, Nicole (Daniel) Bowers and Kayla (Tyler) Howard; 2 sisters, Anna Marie (Dan) Butikofer of Elgin, IA, and Kay (John) Schilling of Colesburg, IA; 3 sisters in law, Susan (Gary) Enyart of LaFayette, CO, Mary Ann (Jim) Ryan of Waukon, and Margie (Mike) Schulte of Waukon; 2 brothers in law, Charles (Marion) Stendel of DeSoto, WI, and Herman Jr. ‘Bud’ (Sherry) Stendel of Charles City, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
