FRANCK, Mabel A.
Mabel A. Franck, 77, a resident of Central City, Iowa for the past nine years, and formerly of the Hazelton and Monona, Iowa communities, passed away 10:20 p.m. Monday, February 13, 1978 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. She was born the daughter of Frederick and Caroline (Meier) Elet on May 24, 1900 at Monona, Iowa. On February 20, 1919 at Monona, Iowa she was married to George Franck who passed away July 16, 1969 at Iowa City, Iowa. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Central City American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Irene) Wilson of Waterloo and Mrs. Veryl (Lavon) Kelley of Central City; one son, Donald Franck of Troy Mills; twenty-five grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Selma Mielke of Monona. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 1978 at the United Methodist Church in Strawberry Point, Iowa with Rev. Duane Manning and Rev. Robert Hamilton officiating. The organist will be Mrs.Jones Strauss, vocalists, Mrs. Clarence Kohls and Mrs. Doug Behrens. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Jim Wilson, Wayne Wilson, Jerry Wilson, Dean Franck, Roger Franck, and Kevin Franck. Interment will be at the Strawberry Point cemetery.
