Emma E. McDowell

Emma E. McDowell, of rural Waukon, died February 12, 1986, at her home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 15, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist with Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers were John, Paul, Kenneth and Anthony McDowell, James DePatie, Chester Thicele, Barthell Bakkum. Martin's Funeral Home was in charge of services.

Emma E. McDowell, daughter of George and Gertrude (Collins) Troester, was born September 14, 1910 in Clayton County. She was a homemaker and a school teacher in rural Clayton County. On November 20, 1935 she was united in marriage to Thomas McDowell in Guttenberg. She received her education in the Guttenberg Schools. She was a member of the Farm Bureau Women and Rossville Social Sewing Homemakers Club.

She was preceded in death by a brother Arthur and a sister Bernice.

Surviving are her husband, George, 2 sons, John of Oak Brook, IL and Paul of Prescott, Az; a daughter, Mrs. Randall (Charlotte) Stefanich of Anchorage, Alaska; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lester Troester of Colesburg and Phillip Troester of Monona; and a sister Mrs. Carl (Nellie) Johanningmeier of Monona.
