A Monona man and a Guttenberg man were killed in a 3-vehicle accident Wednesday morning that took place, in foggy conditions, approximately 2 miles west of Monona.

According to an Iowa State Patrol spokesperson, those killed were Donald McGuire, 19, of Monona, and Ronald Judkins, 29, of Guttenberg.

Injured in the accident were John White, 21 of Garnavillo; Brenda Muller, 23, of Luana, and Randy Glawe, 25, of Monona.

Visibility was between 150 and 200 feet when the vehicle McGuire and Judkins were riding in, a 1977 Ford Thunderbird driven by White traveling westbound, passed Glawe's vehicle, a Chevrolet truck, and then struck Muller's eastbound vehicle, a 1974 Chevrolet Laguna.

Muller's vehicle came to rest partially across the eastbound roadway and was hit by Glawe's truck. White's vehicle came to rest on its wheels in the south ditch. Both the Muller and Glawe vehicles came to rest on the road.

White, Muller and Glawe were taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Postville. White and Muller were airlifted to Iowa City. Glawe was treated and released. Both Muller and White are currently listed in fair condition.
