Funeral services for Anna Montgomery were held Saturday, July 7, 1990 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Monona. Father Hohn Moran officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She died Wednesday, July 4, 1990 at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Rosary Society.

Anna C. Lechnir Montgomery was born July 21, 1913 in Bridgeport Township, Crawford County, WI to parents Thomas and Anna Marovets Lechnir. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. She received her education in Irish Ridge country school.

On Feb. 9, 1935 she married Donald F. Montgomery at St. John's Catholic Church. They had 6 children. She worked as a nurses aide at Luana Nursing Home and Postville Community Hospital. The couple made their home in Monona.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Donald, who died Sept. 5, 1982, 4 brothers, Leo, Rudy, Raymond and Charles, and 3 sisters, Agnes, Albina and Emma.

Surviving are 3 sons, Donald of Monona, Thomas of Hephzibah, GA and Jym of Monona; 3 daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Fritz) Meyer of Monona; Marilyn (Mrs. Clarence) Thompson of Soldiers Grove, WI and Norma (Mrs. Richard) Asleson of Monona, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Richard Asleson, John Montgomery, Donald Montgomery, Ronald Grady, Rick Badon, Ben Marovets. Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of services.
