Cora Ellen (Kishman) Moses, daughter of Henry and Harriet (Sheppard) Kishman, was born June 23, 1884, in Clayton County. She passed away at the Postville Good Samaritan Center on September 13, 1973, after a short illness.

She was educated in the rural schools of her home vicinity and attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette. Following that, she taught school for several years. She was united in marriage to J. R. Moses on May 8, 1919, and they lived on a farm until 1926, when they moved to Monona. Monona has been her home ever since except for two years in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and one year in the Postville Good Samaritan Home. There were two children born to this union, one daughter, Lorraine, and one son, Jason.

Mrs. Moses was a member of the eastern Star and was active in the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1955; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Charlotte) Schmitt, Mrs. Adolph (Elizabeth) Elet, and Carrie Kishman; and four brothers, Alfred, Werner, George and Lee.

She leaves to remember her one daughter, Mrs. John (Lorraine) Hopkins, of Brecksville, Ohio; one son, Jason, of Saratoga, Calif., one brother, Howard, of Monona; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
