Carrie Musser Last Rites Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Orr Musser, 79, were held Monday afternoon, Nov. 29, at 2 o'clock at the Schultz Funeral home in Monona with Rev. Paul V. Clements officiating.
Burial was in the Monona City cemetery.
Mrs. Musser died Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Postville hospital.
She was born a daughter of Frank M. and Emma L. (Topliff) Orr, in Postville, Nov. 18, 1886.
In 1893, at the age of 7 years, she moved with her parents to Monona where her father became cashier of the newly chartered Monona State bank. All of her adult life was spent in Monona, where she graduated from the local high school. She then worked as a switchboard operator for The Standard Telephone Company and for more than 30 years as clerk in the local post office.
In 1908 she was married to Frank Musser. To this union one son, Merwin Frank, was born. He now lives at Davenport.
In addition to her son, she is survived by three brothers and one sister, Creighton J. Orr of Volga, Harold T. Orr of Monona, Dr. Kinley T. Orr of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Margaret M'Cann of Chicago Heights, Illinois, together with several nieces and nephews.
Music at the services was provided by Mrs. Thomas James, soloist. Mrs. Ivon J. Schultz was the accompanist.
Pallbearers were G. F. Fox, Harvey Debes, Gordon Schultz, G. F. Peglow, Willard Tapper, and Edward Kruse.
