Funeral services were held Monday of last week at 2:00 p.m. at the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona for Ira Justus Moon, 64, who passed away at Postville Hospital, Saturday, October 17, at 2:00 a.m., at the age of 64 years, six months and seven days. Burial was in Goodin cemetery.
Ira Justus Moon, was born April 10, 1889, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Moon. On December 29, 1914, he was united in marriage to Iva Reardon. They began farming on his parents's farm. One son was born to this union. Mrs. Moon passed away shortly after the birth of their son on July 17, 1919. The son passed away September 29, 1917.
In 1948 Mr. Moon decided to quit farming and moved to Farmersburg where he lived until the time of his death. The deceased had not been in the best of health for the past several years. Several weeks ago when his condition became worse, he decided to spend the winter months with his sister, Flossie in Postville. It soon became necessary to take him to the hospital for treatment.
He leaves to mourn his death one brother, Leo, of Prairie du Chien; one sister, Flossie Ruckdaschel, of Postville; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife and one son; his parents; two brothers, Herb and Gus; and two sisters, Jessie, Mrs. Alva Jones, and Mabel, Mrs. Joe Holly.
