Mrs. Henry Mohs Interred Friday
Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the home and at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church for Mrs. Henry Mohs, who passed away March 7 at her home. The rites were conducted by Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig.
Anna Mary Minnie (Harnack) Mohs, daughter of Joseph Harnack and Caroline Harnack, was born August 4, 1874 at Clayton Center and departed this life on March 7, 1950, at her home in Postville, age 75 years.
Mrs. Mohs was received into membership in the Lutheran church.
Mrs. Mohs was united in marriage with Henry Mohs of Postville on March 24, 1893. To this union 11 children were born of whom seven survive the passing of their mother.
She spent the early years of her life at Clayton Center. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Mohs established the family home on a farm near Luana. About 1903 the family moved to Lime Springs, and remained there for 10 years. The 10 year period from 1913 to 1923 the family home was maintained at Ellendale, Minnesota. In 1923 the family returned to Postville and Mrs. Mohs continued to make her home here until her death.
Left to mourn her passing are seven children: Harry Mohs of Ellendale, Minnesota, Elmer Mohs of Postville, Mabel (Mrs. Richard Suckow) of Postville, Harry Mohs of Waterloo, Lawrence Mohs of Postville, Florence Froning of Readlyn, Ueona (Mrs. Fred A. Schultz) of Postville; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters: Mrs. William Eberling of Postville, Christ Harnack of Postville, Louis Harnack of Castalia, Mrs. Henry Block of Postville, Mrs. Laura Schmidt of Owatonna, Minnesota, Mrs. John Sebastian, Joseph Harnack and Lester Harnack of Postville; as well as other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Mohs was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four children: Arthur and Walter who died in infancy, Arnold and William; three brothers and one sister: Fred Harnack, John Harnack and Mary and Henry
