Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. May 14, 2010 at the Leonard Funeral Home in Monona and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church, with funeral services being held at 11 a.m. May 15 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. Burial took place in the Monona City Cemetery, Monona.

Cheryl Ann Howard, 55, of Monona, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader, following a sudden illness. She was born in Prairie du Chien, WI, to Lloyd and Ivanelle (Schuety) Glawe on Februrary 12, 1955. Cheryl attended Central Community Schools in Elkader.

On June 24, 1972, she was united in marriage to Jerry Howard at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader. Four children were born to this union.

Cheryl was a Certified Medication Assistant at Scenic Acres, rural St. Olaf, for thirty years until her retirement in 2007. She enjoyed her grandkids, sewing, crocheting, spending time on the computer, gardening and her flowers. She was active in her church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband Jerry of Monona; her children, Lisa (Steve) Pavlovec of Farmersburg, Heather (Ken) Crogan of St. Olaf, Jeremy (Leslie) Howard of Lansing, Samantha (Nick) Kirby of Farmersburg; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Jasmyn, Bailee, Justyee, Isabelle, Keira-Jade, Olivia; two sisters, Mary Tielbar of Farmersburg, JoAnn Glawe of Dubuque and two brothers, Roger (Phyllis) Glawe of Volga and Dean (Sheila) Glawe of McGregor.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Larry and Randy Glawe.
