Funeral services for W. Oliver Eno, 78, Luana were held Saturday, Nov. 27, 1982 at the First Congregational Church, Elkader with the Rev. Ted B. Newton officiating. Burial was in the Eno Cemetery in Wagner Township.
W. Oliver Eno, son of John and Mary Fay Eno, was born July 29, 1904 on the home farm in Wagner Township. He died Nov. 22, 1982 at Central Community Hospital in Elkader.
He attended country school through eighth grade, completed a business course at Wisconsin Business University of LaCrosse and graduated from the Ag. Short Course at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
He was married to Helen Truman Aug. 18, 1936 at Sturgis, S. D. They became the parents of one son.
Oliver lived his entire life on the farm homesteaded by his grandfather in 1853. In addition to farming he was employed by the U.S. Government as manager of the Clayton County ASCS office from 1953 to 1974. Following retirement he and his wife traveled in the U.S. and several foreign countries.
He was a member of First Congregational Church, Elkader, Modern Woodmen of America, NARFE, Director of REA when first organized, Farm Bureau, Eno cemetery board, MFL school board and government farm programs since their start in 1933.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, one son, William J.; one brother, James F., Luana and two nephews, John of Lawton, OK. and James L. of St. Olaf.
