GUTTENBERG, Iowa -- Mary (Beneker) Linderbaum passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010, at her home, surrounded by family, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, with the Rev. Harold McMillin officiating. Burial will be in the Monona City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 25, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Guttenberg.
Mary was born on July 1, 1949, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., daughter of Floyd and Ruth (Campbell) Beneker. Mary graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1967, and continued her education at Western Technical College in La Crosse.
She married Dale Linderbaum on Dec. 28, 1968. From this union, two daughters were born, Sarah and Jennifer.
For the past 29 years, Mary worked at the Allamakee-Clayton Rural Electric Cooperative. Prior to that, she worked at the University of Wisconsin and Coe College.
Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved cooking, gardening, fishing, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, Dale; daughters, Sarah (Mark) Kilburg and Jennifer (Eric) Huinker; grandchildren, Jacob and Elizabeth Kilburg and Kaylee and Allen Huinker; a brother, Floyd (Judy) Beneker; a sister, Rita (Bill) Sturm; sister-in-law, Nancy (Doug) Drahn; mother and father-in-law, Lawrence (Evelyn) Linderbaum; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, plants, benches, statuary and all other gifts, donations may be sent to St. John's Church in Guttenberg, Heartland Hospice and the Guttenberg Ambulance Unit.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Jenni and Pastor Harold and Linda McMillin.
